Our scholarship program makes a positive and lasting difference in the lives of hardworking and dedicated Turkmen students. In their own words two of our scholarship recipients describe what this opportunity means to them: “I strive for a higher education as it is my chance to live my life and to prosper with dignity. For many of us who are chosen to enter a university in liberal arts tradition, this little step can turn out to be a significant leap for our societies, but this first step seems impossible without su icient support and encouragement. I am always thankful for the help of the TYCVF scholarship to make this dream possible.” -Honor Spingarn/ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Recipient “It’s difficult to find the words to explain how it feels to have your life turn around 180 degrees. A future, an opportunity I didn’t even dream about, became real. The objectives of the Honor Spingarn/MLK Scholarships will live within us – supported students and will flourish in the future when we will be making a huge impact on our societies.” -Honor Spingarn/ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Recipient The Honor Spingarn / Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship provides full funding for student from Turkmenistan to attend a four-year liberal arts university.
