The Foundation Curriculum is a mandatory set of readings and questions for winners of the Honor Spingarn / Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship.  It is designed to provide a thorough introduction to critical thinking, political and social theory, leadership and peacemaking.  The Foundation Curriculum also provides a space for those who have taught in Turkmenistan to provide information and guidance on lesson planning and educational strategies in Turkmenistan.

The Foundation Curriculum has two objectives: (1) Provide a through and essential education into critical thinking, Western political and social theory, leadership and peacemaking; and (2) provide a platform for those with experience in education in Turkmenistan to share knowledge and ideas.
