Grants targeting projects of "community development" are nothing new, but the
Foundation maintains that genuine community development has, at its heart,
the exchange of knowledge. In Turkmenistan, the Community Development
Program (CDP) aims to support locals who would like to learn more and
teach more in the areas of HIV/AIDS education, Agro/Hydro/Sanitation,
Drug Awareness, Youth Leadership/Volunteerism, Civic Values Training,
and Gender Issues. The Foundation sponsors individuals and groups, camps,
workshops and seminars, with a preference for projects which outreach
to rural communities. Great ideas are our first priority.
